Floor Springs for Glass Doors (90 kg and 130 kg)

A floor spring is a hydraulic closer set into the floor under a glass door. It carries the door's weight, controls closing speed, and returns the door to centre. It is the standard mechanism for frameless glass entrances in shops, offices and hotels.

Glassics supplies two capacities: the GSR-6001 for doors up to 90 kg and the heavy-duty GSR-6000 for doors up to 130 kg. Both are also available as combo sets with matching patch fittings.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose a floor spring capacity?

Estimate the door's weight. Toughened glass weighs about 2.5 kg per square metre for every millimetre of thickness, so a 1 m × 2.1 m door in 12 mm glass is about 63 kg before fittings. Pick a floor spring rated comfortably above the door weight: the GSR-6001 up to 90 kg, the GSR-6000 up to 130 kg.

Does a floor spring need the floor to be cut?

Yes. A floor spring sits in a box set into the floor below the door's pivot point. If the floor cannot be cut, use a hydraulic patch fitting instead.
